Mayor's Budget Plan Unfairly Targets Ride-Sharing

As organizations committed to creating a thriving city that works for all of Chicago’s diverse constituencies, neighborhoods and demographics, we have an obligation to speak up when we feel our members are being affected by unfair policy changes that ultimately impact the people who live, work and play in Chicago.

Recently, the mayor announced the first of what we can expect to be a series of new fee and tax hikes to help balance the city’s budget. While we recognize the need to fill a structural deficit built up over generations, we also know the city cannot take this money from those who can least afford it.
